As a part of the ACCREU research project, Deltares is organizing a hybrid Adaptation Decision Type workshop, on Transformative coastal flood adaptation in Europe: barriers and success stories. The workshop will take place on 14 April from 14:00-16.00 (CEST).
The workshop will:
- Introduce the ACCREU project research on flood adaptation
- Showcase European examples of innovative coastal flood adaptation strategies that were successful or that remained at the pilot phases
- Discuss the factors that influence uptake and scalability and lessons learned to overcome barriers, with a focus on materializing benefits, enabling conditions and incentives that drive adoption.

ACCREU workshop series are organised according to the different ‘adaptation decision type’ (adaptation themes). These workshops will explore the scalability of adaptation strategies, as well as key barriers and opportunities.
